The new multifunctional Arena Riga opened its doors to visitors in February 2006. Its technical facilities are equal to the best arenas in Europe and provide additional convenience to its visitors.
In our excellent building it is possible to organize the largest mass events in the Baltics in closed premises. Arena Riga’s technical parameters permit concerts of world celebrities by enabling the spectators to see and hear their idols here in Riga. Chris Rea, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, James Brown, Sting, Simply Red are first who had concerts here.
Since old times Riga has had good team sport traditions. The success of the Latvian team in world championships has created an excellent range of fans who accompany our national teams in their games. The 2006 IIHF World Championship created a unique feeling in the city of hockey fans.
Arena Riga in 2007/2008 basketbal season is a home venue for basketball teams “ASK Riga”, which have their home SEB BBL and ULEB CUP games here. Basketball team "Barons/LMT" and TTT Riga hold their SEB BBL and FIBA Euro cup games as well.
Arena Riga also is a convenient place for various events and parties. Construction of the building permits modifying the premises and adapting them for events with 10 as well as 14,500 guests at a time, meanwhile ensuring business level catering.
By using private suites or additional premises, corporate executives now have the opportunity to combine an event for its clients and partners with a concert, show or sports competition. For exhibition purposes, it is possible to use the square in the centre of Arena Riga with a total area of 2,000 square meters. Arena Riga ground floor lobbies whose total area is 600 square meters are perfect for placing additional expositions. Sessions of work groups or seminars can be organized on the 1st floor lodges or 2nd floor meeting premises. For the convenience of visitors we offer catering services, a parking lot for 800 cars and there are public transport lines in the close vicinity.
As at the Opera, Arena Riga also has special suites, however there are more of these here and they are located in the best places – exactly opposite the stage and next to the centre. A separate floor is available to the lessees of private suites, who are serviced together with their guests by the Arena restaurant in their seats during events held at Arena Riga.
