Hartwall Areena, Helsinki Hartwall Areena opened its doors in spring 1997 as Finland's unsurpassed entertainment and sports facility. Located in the Pasila area of Helsinki, this landmark has quickly become a leading European multi-purpose entertainment venue. Hartwall Areena has been host to two world championship ice hockey tournaments as well as countless other sporting events and popular entertainment stage productions. The multi-purpose facility has allured superstars such as David Copperfi eld, Luciano Pavarotti, Kiss, Spice Girls, Robbie Williams and Shakira.
The stage ignited in May 2007 with the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest.
Summer 2008 also promises to sizzle with top acts like John Fogerty. Kiss, Bob Dylan, Lennie Kravitz, Celine Dion and Kylie Minogue
Hartwall Areena can miraculously transform overnight from an ice rink to an amphitheatre or to an indoor riding arena. In addition to sports events, concerts and other stage productions, this venue can also be utilised for exhibitions, conferences and private corporate functions. The arena has a seating capacity of up to 15,000 spectators, while the wide variety of fast food and unique restaurants can accommodate more than 4,000 guests. Many of the 89 skyboxes are available as a single event suite rental. For an added experience, several skyboxes even come furnished with an en-suite sauna department where guests can relax and watch the event or performance! Hartwall Areena is within easy reach by public transportation. If arriving by car, there are several parking possibilities. The multipurpose entertainment facility is more than just a Finnish landmark; the arena is also a valuable asset to the local economy. For most big events, Hartwall Areena hires over 500 service personnel and most of these employees reside
in Helsinki and the surrounding communities.
Hartwall Areena marks its 10th anniversary on April 19th. A lucrative brand name sponsorship deal with British owned beverage giant Hartwall Ltd was recently extended until the year 2017 positioning the arena as a spectacular venue for years to come.
